I love styling food shoots and recently had the privilege of working with a fantastic new WA business enterprise Hart & Co Appliances created by industry stalwart Rick Hart and his children Mick and Belinda.
I was engaged to work on their TV launch advertising campaign by Workhouse Advertising as the prop and food stylist - a dream job in my world.
The brief was to create a lively and sumptuous family dining table feast with beautiful enticing food being enjoyed by the extended Hart clan.
The ad was shot in one of the Hart family homes so I was able to meet everyone and talk all things kitchen, appliances and food in general.
Rick was quite concerned that I had undercooked the fish, until I explained they were not eating it and I had cooked it to the point where it looked it’s best rather than for the table. Food styling, not food eating Mr Hart, welcome to the world of TV!
It was one of the grandchildren’s birthdays on the day of the shoot so I made a layered pavlova with berries and lemon curd (which they could actually eat) and did so with gusto.
Cutting a long and fun day of shooting short.. it was a brilliant experience and I have since been able to do business with the Hart family again, fitting out my new kitchen with appliances from Hart & Co Appliances which I can’t wait to share with you when I film in the kitchen when it’s finished.
I can wholeheartedly report both experiences were a joy and I’d highly recommend the Hart and Co experience if you’re creating your dream kitchen...this family know their business.
